The best thing about creating a YouTube channel for niche sites is that you get a load of search traffic.
If your viewers engage well with the content then the YT algo will suggest your content to users with similar interests

Getting some positive traction and looks like it could be a great strategy for traffic acquisition in addition to search.

I never have and probably never will...
Main reasons - I hate the UX it provides and I think it detracts from the single action I want the user to take on each page.
