At the GSCA Film Expo 2025 held in Los Angeles, NHK presented video content captured with an 8K square sensor camera. The 8K square sensor camera enables the capture of high-resolution images with an ultra-wide field of view.

As an initial study for 360-degree video services, a subjective quality assessment was conducted to evaluate the QoE of a 360-degree video with 8K pixels, compressed and encoded using the HEVC method, when displayed on different devices.
