We need community and creator-owned platforms, it's the only way to safeguard against these tired systems and ways of doing things which lead to the same outcomes for the marginalised and less-known artists and creators.

The current idea that erotic content still on OpenSea or other platforms won't be censored down the line is a fallacy. If OpenSea can pull the single feature that attracted the most artists into this space, what do you think they'll do with erotic content when under pressure?

When you start looking at all big platforms this way, it becomes very clear that no users are really safe on them. The ones that consistently get thrown under the bus are the marginalised.

Why would OpenSea do this? The board and team have closer proximity to collectors (because those people have the deepest pockets) than artists, and those people thus influence them more in their favour.

It's unbelievable that platforms are considering pulling royalties. Forming DAOs to govern platforms which include the core community and users of platforms/protocols is the only way forward. Otherwise, the few at the top will always skew things in favour of their lobbyists ๐งต

Twitter has had a massive drop in revenue, due to activist groups pressuring advertisers, even though nothing has changed with content moderation and we did everything we could to appease the activists. Extremely messed up! Theyโre trying to destroy free speech in America.
