It really is mind blowing that this isn’t a bigger deal. How can elected officials be okay with not getting answers on this? How can we have any trust in the Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office when it is just issue after issue? Put it on the ballot along with the Register of Wills.
“The cover-up is always worse than the crime.” Enough is enough. Taxpayers deserve to have answers to what happened here. What are they hiding? Time to disband the Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office.

Adjusting the business tax needs to be the number one priority of Philadelphia City Council in 2026. Jobs. Jobs. Jobs. How? Attract businesses. Show them Philadelphia is open for business.

Weird this article isn’t titled: “Grow Philly to 2 Milly” City Council & Mayor Parker need to expand the tax base by lowering our business taxes. Allan Domb is right, “if we want real change, if we want Philadelphia to be all it can be, we need to move much more aggressively.”
As Philly public schools face funding shortfalls, Allan Domb writes, fixing them may require a bold rethink of how the city raises — and grows — its revenue. https://t.co/n1s98FW9fw

I don’t understand the obsession with adaptive reuse for these Market St buildings, especially when the idea is offered nearly in the same breath as a lament that so many other development proposals have failed due to high costs.
Fixing Market East should not be this hard, Philadelphia. Some thoughts on the latest mess. Gift link!

Reason ♾️ why the Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office needs to be abolished. This story doesn’t add up on so many levels… but in the end it shows more mismanagement within the Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office. Can’t manage cars, can’t manage land, can’t manage guns. Enough is enough

The experts should be listened to when it comes to installing any bike lanes in Philadelphia… Feels shouldn’t be a part of decisions when lives are at stake. This woman at the end asks a question about bikers stopping at red lights?… yes they should stop.

City Councilmember Young is a lawyer… so the law is something that he actually should opine on unlike traffic studies or urban planning… The City is open to litigation if he doesn’t include the 5th District in this bill… he knows that… the city has said that… 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

But City Councilmember Young doesn’t understand that the current set up is not safe… and what is being proposed and implemented is safer than the status quo. CM Young also has this strange fixation on trying to give drivers a break because they aren’t used to bike lanes? 🤷‍♂️

To be clear, the Philadelphia City Hall bike lane is being installed by PennDOT… as a pilot. I think for 8 months? In the next few weeks. It needs to be stripped and the flex posts added. Philadelphia City Councilmember Jay Young has nothing to do with it at the moment…

Last night, I asked Philadelphia City Councilmember Young about listening to the community on the City Hall bike lane along with including the 5th District in the loading zone bill… There was massive support at the meeting for both… we’ll see what CM Young does.
Philadelphia City Councilmember Jay Young didn’t like to be called a “quarrelsome contrarian” today at City Council… We’re talking about allowing Streets to put loading zones in Center City in the 5th District… something they have been doing since the 1980s 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ Why not?

Inga is right about one thing… fixing Market East should not be this hard. That is why demolishing the buildings on Market Street is the necessary next step in order to reactivate Market East. If you can’t accept that… then how can you be taken serious on anything else?

Good information from the Police captain on reporting package theft and property crime… They won’t know it is an issue without reporting it… and they have been making arrests from the reports and VIDEO!

Good answer from CM Young on the illegal smoke shops.
