Maybe you've seen a video circulating that shows several anchors from stations owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group. They're reading a media-bashing indictment of fake news from the company. You may not always agree with what he says here, but Kyle's words are his own.

A thoughtful follow-up question to our conversation last night, when we talked about the video showing Sinclair anchors reading the same script.

@nexton9news @KyleClark Your show allows you to express your opinion. Thatโ€™s why people watch Next. Itโ€™s not the same as the Nightly News. The statement that was quoated was more of a mission statement and should be the goal of main stream media news in my opinion.

@nexton9news @KyleClark thanks for taking a clear unambiguous stand Kyle, however simply labeling Sinclair's actions forcing local anchors to read a corporate statement verbatim is way beyond 'wrong'. It's an abuse of power, tyranny by an employer and flat out Orwellian. #SinclairBroadcasting

@nexton9news @KyleClark I get it. I would avoid watching Sinclair stations if I knew they were owners. But how is coordinating a consistent news read across member stations different than CNN, FOX, MSNBC broadcasting a singular message through one outlet to everyone?

@nexton9news Kyle, good piece. Iโ€™d like to ask you this question, though, what would you do if you were ordered to read something like the Sinclair Manifesto? Would you refuse and face being fired? 1/

@nexton9news Sinclair is nothing more then propaganda news bent on manufacturing fake news for their listeners...it's basically a version of FOX News on a local level. This, combined with the decline of our newspapers worries me greatly.

@LaandWiles @chrisvanderveen @jeremyjojola Lara, is you argument that the story wasn't written by @KyleClark ? We did not say he writes every word of the show. We also don't run standard/generic stories as handouts on Next. We cover similar topics, but the report was written and checked by the 9Wants to Know team.
