Whenever a DJ posts 20 grainy, dark and shaky iPhone videos of their set on their story I do what any sensible person would do. I watch each one in its entirety, developing a thought-provoking analysis of each blend and appreciating each clip as its own piece of art

Every DJ could benefit from having some type of ‘stage manager’ watching over their booth - artists shouldnt have to fend off requests or people invading their space while playing. If the venue doesn’t have dedicated security for this, an organizer or a friend both work 😸

This is a nice idea in principle, but so many DJ/producers already pass around the same $10 on bandcamp every month and this doesn’t feel any different unless the venues match the percentage contributed from the DJ’s fee (putting their money where their mouth is).
