ICE New Orleans says it prioritizes arresting criminal immigrants & targeted enforcement. However, it has not said whether any of the workers during Monday’s Kenner construction site raid had criminal records. Immigrants with pending cases have also been detained at check-ins.

In one of the largest ICE raids in Louisiana history, 84 workers at Delta Downs were arrested. Officials say the workers were hired illegally, mostly to tend to the stables. The race course is also under investigation for illegal hiring. @FOX8NOLA

The city of Kenner canceled this year’s Hispanic Heritage Festival after growing concerns among the community over increased ICE presence. Kenner has the largest population of Hispanics in Louisiana with more than 20,000 making up 30% of the city’s population. @FOX8NOLA

ICE arrested multiple workers at a construction site for a new fire station in Kenner this afternoon. Kenner Police helped in the raid. Officials haven’t said who was arrested and how many people were taken. @FOX8NOLA

Kenner Police confirmed it helped in the raid after ICE requested assistance. The raid came despite reports of the Trump Administration rolling back on raids at work places due to concerns with the labor force.
