By decoding this new sequence of latents through the Neural Audio Codec’s decoder, we obtain a smooth continuous output that follows the musical characteristics of our target with the sounds of our source. 📄 Read the paper on arXiv

We first encode the source sample to create a codebook of latents as our timbre reference. Then after encoding our target sample into a sequence of latents, we reconstruct that sequence instead using the closest elements from our codebook 👾

We have contributed a late breaking demo paper to ISMIR! . By exploiting the compressed information dense latents of Neural Audio Codecs, we can perform zero-shot ‘timbre transfer’ using as little as a single source audio sample for reference. 🔥
