My brothers place is Tolaga Bay has completely been destroyed the third time they have been hit by slash and it is all gone. They found their dog but have no clue about their horses just hoping they made it to high ground.

Tologa Bay is such a beautiful part of Aotearoa. Breaks my heart ๐to see the damage the floods & slash have done to this ฤtaahua part of our world. To live through this time, & time, & time again is just hideous! So damaging for them materially, physically & emotionally.

That is so sad. Sending good thoughts. I havent heard about my brother in Gisborne itself although I saw a photo in one of the news articles which was taken in his street and appears to be from the vantage point of his property.

Here's hoping forestry gets regulated not to leave nearly as much slash behind anymore

Oh my. Glad theyโre safe and hope they find their equine friends. Once this all is assessed there are going to be a lot of very angry people as that slash has created a far worse and awful devastation.
