A really cool virtual global collaboration with Dr. Lyndsey Anderson resulting in this cool study looking at ultrasonic vocalizations before, during, and after seizures! Audible vocalizations highest before seizure but USVs highest DURING seizure. π€― https://t.co/wwj1mQrLA3

My first scientific project as an undergrad has evolved into a truly amazing publication. A unique model of studying sequential vocal learning in songbirds using fMRI. This has a really special place in my heart. #birdnerd #birdsong

Listening to DR @PagliaroAlexa present her dissertation was worth staying til 2am for. From Baby Birds studying birdsong at Wellesley to fully fledged PhDs (in oddly similar fields!), tearing up seeing one of my sisters in STEM grow into an amazing scientist. #womeninSTEM

Q: "How do trainees not get discouraged and stay in behavioral neuroscience?" A: "Stay in societies that affirm and validate behavioral neuroscience. Join a community." ^^^THIS. #IBNS2021 @IBNSconnect This has stayed with me from yesterday's panel & truer words never been said.

Best virtual poster session I've attended! We love to see it #IBNS2021 @IBNSconnect
First #IBNS2021 poster sessions last night and it was all virtual - and the app was surprisingly realistic! You check out the title, wander the poster boards, then can sit and be taken through it interactively, each pointing at locations! Thanks @nebulasector7

If EO was in 1999, my parents and I would not be in the US today. Many of their colleagues and my own would not. Research & healthcare is driven by the very people Trump is driving out. https://t.co/EAPHcKpqC6

Again, 120,000 Americans are dead from COVID-19 and the president ordered testing to be slowed down because big numbers would hurt him politically. There aren't words for this level of betrayal.
Just now I asked the President if he was kidding when he said he told his people to slow down testing, which is how White House officials explained the comment. He said, βI donβt kid.β He also said again testing is a double-edged sword, and praised the job the U.S. has done.

I am very bad at Twitter despite using it almost daily from 2012-2016. I ditched it because I thought "real scientists don't use Twitter" when I started applying/attending grad school. Oh, how young and naive I was.
