We are carrying out a training exercise at Ilfracombe Harbour today to practice our response to an oil spill, alongside the environment agency and emergency services. Please do not be concerned, this is just a drill to test our response to such an event should it ever happen.

UPDATE: Following a successful recovery operation with a local salvage operator, the boat has safely been removed from the rocks and secured alongside the Quay Wall. Thank you to those involved in the safe recovery.

UPDATE: An inspection of the boat has taken place and there has been no damage to the boat's hull, and no pollution as a result of the incident. A recovery operation will take place this evening using a local salvage operator. A further update will be provided following this.

Just a reminder that from 1 Jan, 24, we expanded lead requirements for dogs to council-owned allotments, car parks, and ornamental gardens as well as cemeteries as part of our PSPO. This step was taken for the safety and well-being of both our community and furry friends.
