Today we celebrate Independence Day, but did you also know that July 4 is reputed to be the birthday of rodeo?. Deer Trail, Colorado, says it had the first organized rodeo July 4, 1869, while Prescott, Arizona, touts its July 4, 1888, rodeo was the first ever professional event.
