On Dec. 14, @NCSHP members in Troop E along with partner agencies in Davidson County took part in the 28th annual “Give a Kid a Christmas” holiday shopping event at Walmart in Lexington. Forty-one children were given a brighter Christmas holiday thank to this heartwarming event!

@NCSHP sends our heartfelt sympathies to the family of Trooper Tara-Marysa Guting who lost her life in the line of duty on Dec. 19 while investigating a vehicle collision. Our prayers are with @wastatepatrol as they cope during this difficult time.
The Washington State Patrol (WSP) confirms the tragic loss of Trooper Tara-Marysa Guting #720, who was killed Friday evening after being struck by a vehicle in Tacoma.

This month @NCSHP marked the retirement of Canine "DP." An 8-year-old female Belgian Malinois, DP has provided exceptional service to the Patrol as well as to the residents and travelers who utilize North Carolina's roadways. Thank you DP for your many years of dedicated service!

On Nov. 12, @NCSHP members in Troop E participated in the 10th annual Give-A-Kid-A-Christmas go kart fundraiser racing event. The event was held at @trackhousemotor in Mooresville. Proceeds are spent on shopping trips with local children to help fulfill their holiday gift lists!

On Dec. 14, @NCSHP members in Johnston County participated in the annual Cops & Kids Christmas Shopping Event, hosted by the Johnston County FOP Lodge 88 at Walmart in Smithfield. Fifty local children joined officers as they selected their holiday gifts!
