This collaboration is a testament to what can be achieved when compassion meets technology. We are set to revolutionise laundry practices globally, paving the way for a more equitable and prosperous future for hundreds of thousands of people.

We’re going to do just that. I'm excited to announce that @thewashorg is now supported by the @WhirlpoolCorp (Foundation). Together, over the next five years, we will design, manufacture and distribute over 10,000 machines, helping 150,000 people.

Last month @thewashorg got to make good on that promise. It was an emotional moment for everyone, including Divya. As we were leaving, Divya reminded us that there are millions more like her around the world and that we need to do our best to reach them with our machines.

I promised Divya that I would come back and give her a washing machine to alleviate the burden of hand-washing clothes. What I didn’t know at the time was that I would go on to dedicate my life to this mission and inspire many more to come on the journey.

Promise fulfilled. In 2017, whilst on secondment in India, I became best friends with my next-door neighbour, Divya. She'd spend hours a day hand-washing clothes. It was backbreaking work, denying her opportunities to work and rest.
