The Brexit Breakfast event ended up being a reflection of the variety and disparity of the current political scenario. Now, we will have to await the results of the elections, that will take place next Thursday.

A member of the public started a debate on immigration and Brexit and also questioned what will happen to students who want to be part of the Erasmus+ programme.

“We have to continue to have a relationship with Europe”, @EllieChownsMEP on whether it is possible to leave the EU after the elections.

The presentation round was ended by @craddock_david, who said that “the problem is not Europe, is Westminster”. He also thinks that there will be an economic impact after Brexit, as the companies that came to the West Midlands for the advantages offered by the EU will leave.

@Annettew_brexit has remained firm on her beliefs stating that “the UE is not democratic”. She also denies the accusations that point to a negative impact of Brexit on the economy and suggests that politicians who affirm that are “defending their interests".

He has also expressed his concern about the future of economy: “my party guarantees that if we are elected the interest of the manufacturing industry we’ll be protected” @AdrianBaileyWBW

The Labour MP @Adrianbaileywbw positioned himself as well against the leave of UK from the EU: “It is good that countries work together as a group, to have a wider influence in other areas”.

For @Elliechownsmep "an Election is not the right way to sort Brexit mess". She also defined the 3 main points of the Green Party's program: 1. Tackle the climate crisis 2. Vote and resolve the Brexit situation 3. Build a fairer country

The main reason why the member of the Brexit Party @AaronDHudson, got involved in politics was not Brexit, but because his area needed a change. This “passionate Brexiteer” is standing as Stourbridge Candidate in the upcoming election.

Members from the main political parties have attended the meeting, except for the Conservatives, that decided to back out from the event. @Elliechownsmep, @Adrianbaileywbw, @Aarondhudson, @craddock_david and @Annettew_brexit formed the discussion panel, hosted by @deruytea.

One of the main questions facing the next electoral call is what will happen to Brexit. To answer this, @BCU_Brexit has organized the Brexit Breakfast event, which has addressed disparate issues, such as the future of the economy or the Erasmus+ students.

Less than a week before the general elections, political parties are rushing their last days of campaigning, while uncertainty continues to increase. The candidates, just like the citizens, are aware that the outcome at the polls will be decisive for the future of the country.
