π¨ Photos claiming the @WelshConserv support Labour's 20mph scheme have been circulating online. π To be crystal clear, since becoming Shadow Transport Minister in 2021, we have continuously voted against the costly policy. π΅ Only the Welsh Conservatives will scrap this scheme!

π¨ There has been a sharp rise in absenteeism in Newport with the number of missed days rising from 74,122 in 2018/19 to 161,420 in 2023/24. βEvery day missed is a missed opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. π Action is needed to turn this around.

π£οΈ Met with campaigners fighting against plans for a coal tip reclamation project at Sirhowy Valley Country Park. π¨ They're concerned about the damage it would cause to the beauty spot & surrounding communities with noise and dust. π€ I'll continue to work with them & residents

ποΈ Construction of the Heads of the Valleys Road caused damage to my constituent's property. πͺ Windows were blown and cracks have started appearing around the house. π Now the road is open, their property must be repaired.

π₯ NHS waiting lists are shamefully high with nearly 800,000 patient pathways open & nearly 10,000 facing 2 year waits!. π₯ Things continue to go from bad to worse under Labourβs watch. π It's time Labour admits failure and declare a health emergency to drive waiting lists down

π¨ Child poverty in Wales is set to hit reach its highest rate in 30 years by the end of the decade, it has been warned. π₯ It has also been claimed there has been little progress in reducing poverty in Wales over the last 20 years. π Labour's action so far has failed.

π¨ @WelshConserv held a debate calling for a health emergency to be declared. π I shared some of the shocking situations my constituents have had to face. β If incidents like these arenβt enough for Labour to declare an emergency, then I really do not know what it will take

π£οΈ Really productive meeting with the @NewportBus team about local & national issues. π We covered lots including the upcoming Bus Bill & proposed bus fare cap for 16 β 21-year-olds. π Of course I couldn't resist the opportunity to jump behind the wheel of one of their buses!

π Changes to school transport criteria means many students in my region will no longer be eligible. π¨ They now face walking through an unlit flood-prone area & contending with a busy roundabout, or parents dropping them which will increase congestion. π Major rethink needed!

Delighted to confirm this issue has now been resolved and my constituents are able to continue with their studies in September as planned with funding reinstated!.
π¨ The future plans of some students are in limbo due to Welsh Gov changes. β Despite having everything in place & due to start studying in 12 weeks, funding has been axed last minute. π Ministers must act to ensure my constituents can continue with their studies unimpeded
