“I don’t wanna be strong sometimes. It’s just a lot to carry.” #trappedintrauma Guilt, hyper vigilance, downregulation of other emotions. Huge amount of respect for this man. What a brave step out against the backdrop the of hyper-masculine music and the streets. 👏👏👏 A thread

Huge admiration for @konanplaydirty for sharing his story and experiences of therapy, esp as a young black male rapper. So much respect #trappedintrauma

Reflecting on DClinPsy application with White applicants is so telling. I was talking to someone & they went like “ & oh yeah, a tip I got is to mention diversity”. I stared at them confused & thinking “you know I’m black right?”. it just shows how different our journeys are lol

It is literally our life. it hits close to home, it affects our loved ones. it’s stressing and a disadvantage. I worry about it before meeting new clients, going for interviews & speaking up in a room full of privilege. It gets our heart racing, speak us less & isolate
