Hello @LondonFire Is there any chance you could follow your own advice? Left turning trucks failing to look out for cyclists at junctions is the most deadly thing when it comes to cycling around London. Seems to be something this driver of yours has forgotten.

So who should be giving way to who here? This truck driver said he saw me as he was already halfway turning across #Cycleway4 . It's my understanding from the Highway Code rule H3 that just because you're in a truck it doesn't exempt you from stopping and waiting....

Just what was this bus driver trying to achieve. They knew the road narrowed here. Why couldn't they have just waited a handful of seconds to let us cross the lights into the cycle lane and out of their way. Some bus drivers on this stretch are just plain outright dangerous.

@markandcharlie @AndyCoxDCS @theJeremyVine @NaughtyDrivers @MikeyCycling 2022, the year 1.5 metres passing distance made it into the Highway Code but as this collection shows, some drivers still can't wait. @willnorman , thanks for CS4 it's made a big difference to my days ../1

Big thank you to the drivers crying out that we should be in the cycle lane. Are you now advocating for cyclists to just ignore road signage and ride into oncoming traffic or is it just drivers allowed to ignore Highway Code rule 162 and drive blindly into oncoming traffic?

@coltscabs Other industries have HSE rules around the operation of dangerous machinery and the expectations of the people controlling the machines. It's nothing but selfish entitlement to think you should get an exemption from following rules in place to keep people safe.

@fesshole I had a cab driver in Dublin do that following a cyclist with long hair. Lots of description about a perfect ass and what he'd love to do until he passed them to find it was a bloke. I still had another 10 mins to travel and he was totally silent the rest of the journey.

@castleanthrax1 My licence I transferred over from Australia didn't allow me to drive road trains but I did have the classification for heavy trucks and buses. The DVLA don't automatically grant these classes upon swapping though.

@cybergibbons Most data centres I've worked at you could gain access to secure cages by going under the floor with a floor tile lifter.

Is the driver of the Police car required to give way here I wonder?

@theJeremyVine Wow, so many people here thinking it's a planning issue with the crossing. Every street like this now has an implied crossing regardless of whether there's paint or no paint. You now have to give way here as per highway code rule H2

@MTBoar Do you always consider following the Highway Code as optional when you drive? Your response proves it's likely you never took the time to learn it.
