Bf/Girlfriend (high utility/low cost) Low shame,he gains many of the same benefits as marriage (sex on demand, emotional support, and often domestic labor) while making nearly no investment. It also saves women from the “prostitute” label, making them willing to provide it.

Marriage (high utility/high cost) Historically low shame because the man gains children (“LeGaCy”), a domestic manager, and exclusive, on demand, sexual access. He recieves long term labor and stability (utility) but makes a high stakes economic investment (cost).
