U/D GLENDALE GALLERIA, There was an attempted robbery at a Jewelry Store within the mall a Security Guard fired his weapon no one hit. GPD has the Mall on lock down till they have everything figured out and confirmed that the suspects are detained. AVOID THE AREA at this time.
Over the years I have found it amazing that there are people out there that read things not for the information, but so they can correct grammar and spelling. Sorry we don't have editors to look over every tweet. Sometimes news happens on the fly. Stuff happens - deal with it.
Burbank Police responded to a call of a snake on the sidewalk next to a hillside home, they removed a old shoelace no snake was found. BPD is the Best.
Bad weekend for COVID-19 cases in Burbank. We went up 42 confirmed cases from 474 to 516 with 3 additional deaths. These are very scary numbers for a weekend, we need to really start being more careful Burbank. Masks - masks - masks.
Our Hats are off to The Burbank Police Officers who have been checking on the Homeless living in tents and makeshift shelters around town today. This heat is tough on everybody.
Only in Burbank: Someone has called the police and said the announcer at the Burroughs football game is too loud and seem to be 'rambling, out of touch, and talking about families'.
Just an FYI that it is senior night with players and families being introduced and celebrated.
@myBurbankNEWS
We're home, baby! Been evac. for 24 hours, the hill across the street was engulfed. Firefighters are chillin on the sidewalk. Very grateful!
You did it Burbank! As of June 25, the population of Burbank 16 and older has hit the 70.2% vaccination level. Beat the July 4 deadline set by

For those asking - the L. A. City curfew is for L.A. City. Burbank is NOT part of L. A. City and it does NOT apply here. So far the Burbank radios have been very quiet and there are NO problems here.
Just heard one of the most emotional callers who lives near Tinhorn Flats and nearly broke down when explaining how scared she is for her safety in the area of the restaurant. Our hearts go out to her and her family.
I guess telling people not to light off fireworks is like telling people to wear masks and social distance. The fire radios for the entire area are going nuts with brush and working fires. Believe it or not, Burbank is not one of the bad areas compared to the Valley and Pasadena
Cases of coronavirus in Burbank only rise by 1 overnight - bringing total to 7, much slower rate than other places - continue your social distancing Burbankers and we will get through this!
wow - what a slap to the face of every restaurant obeying the rules and every person doing the same. Why can't the City step up here and either take away his business license or have his power cut. People are dying
Police are responding to Walmart for a report of a man playing a piano in a handicapped parking spot and being very loud.
The piano is probably out of tune also...

COVID-19 report - in the past 7 days, there have been 137 new cases in Burbank (total at 9,272 overall). Our vaccination rate for over 16 years-old is at 71.7%. We are wearing masks for 28.3% who will not get their shots.
This will go on forever unless we do the right thing.
Tomorrow at 9 am on the Chandler Bikeway at Mariposa, Burbank students and adults alike will join together for "March for our Lives"
There is no more important issue in our country than gun control and protecting innocent people.
Good luck and be safe to all the marchers!
Burbank has 7 confirmed Coronavirus cases. Cmpare that to Glendale (29), North Hollywood (18), Sun Valley (3). Let's continue to social distance people - it is now a misdemeanor in Burbank not to observe the 6 foot distancing restrictions when waiting for businesses
Council passes the 7-story, 7 parking space low income housing project on Empire due to SB 35. It does have 1 handicapped space also. Thank you State of California. Council members had no choice but to allow the development which will just stack people in.

The Burbank Town Center announced today that Round 1 Entertainment Center is coming to the Burbank Town Center in 2019 . Moving into the old Sport Chalet location.
Dino's Pizza at Hollywood Way and Burbank has announced that they have closed for 4 weeks effective immediately but they said they would continue to pay their employees
In all honesty, we think these restaurants are in financial trouble as it is so asking for discounts now is not the way to go. We need to support our local Burbank businesses as much as possible. While we all love discounts, sometimes we have to weigh the overall situation
Currently Burbank Towncenter security is evacuating the center because of possibly two shots heard at Macy's. Burbank police have investigated and have found no shots were fired, just two balloons popped and there is no danger to the public.
Here's an idea
@BurbankCA
- yes, the Starlight Bowl season is cancelled (and should be) but still no reason you can't shoot off the fireworks on the hill for all Burbank residents to enjoy July 4th from their homes and still social distance. Be a nice gesture in a depressing time
YIKES: Burbank Police are responding to Warner Bros. security for a report that someone opened a box and found a human finger inside.
Sounds like someone literally gave Warner Bros. the finger.
At least it was not a horse's head
myBurbank and all the residences of Burbank send Condolences to the family of LA County Sheriff Deputy Dennis Gill a Burbank Resident himself who was killed along with his daughter in a early morning traffic accident while vacationing in Oregon. Prayers to your family. R.I.P.
A petition has been started to the Burbank City Council to have the City of Burbank close San Fernando between Olive & Magnolia to vehicle traffic, and make it pedestrian-only with expanded outdoor dining during the COVID-19 crisis.

Fritz Coleman, who has been a large part of Burbank for many years, has announced his retirement from Channel 4 after 39 years. His last day on the air will be June 26. He is currently the Honorary Mayor of Toluca Lake. We wish him the very best in retirement and thank him!
ALERT: Burbank paramedics are responding to the airport for an incoming Southwest flight for a passenger that is sick. Unknown what kind of sickness. Tell us those paramedics in Burbank (and everywhere else) are not heroic people when they respond to the unknown.
Side Note: So restaurants can now have alcohol to go and gun shops are 'essential' but when a restaurant tries to help the community by selling produce like a store they are forbidden. Guess the fruit and vegetable lobby is not as good as the gun and alcohol lobby!
Burroughs Softball Coach Doug Nicol has been on a road trip and wants to know why San Fernando Blvd. in Burbank can't follow the Santa Barbara model he found.
People keep saying Burbank needs to open up Tinhorn Flats again. Burbank did not shut them down, the County Health Dept. did. Burbank would not have taken actions if the Health Dept. did not pull their license. That is the reason Burbank held a hearing.

Our largest jump ever in Coronavirus cases as the number increased 19 today to 170. Up over 40 cases since the weekend. We know you are getting stir crazy at home nut this is the time we really need to stay home!!

Hold on to your hats - the National Weather Service warning alert just went off here in the myBurbank Command Center announcing a blizzard warning in Los Angeles County. The only blizzard I have ever seen anywhere around here is at Dairy Queen but bring it on!
Why are we shutting things down again? Here is the main reason. This weekend, Burbank gained an additional 47 COVID-19 cases to go from 678 on Friday to 725 on Monday. Total includes 14 at the Recycle Center, 3 at he Smokehouse and 3 at IHeart Media. Next scheduled update Friday
Guess what - we are not a paper.
What are we?
We are members of this community who grew up in this city and care about the quality of life.
We want our kids to be safe the way we were when we were young.
yeah - an opinion, so unfollow if you are offended - too bad
City of Burbank just put out the County order that all patrons MUST be vaccinated starting October 7 who go into bars, lounges, nightclubs, breweries, wineries, and distilleries.
Still, City of Burbank workers have no mandate for testing or vaccine. Maybe we need a County order.
Final Rant: We sit here and listen to scanners and every time we hear a Burbank fire engine and paramedic squad dispatched to a 'Sick 2" call which is potentially COVID-19, we always hope they will be safe. They risk their lives numerous times everyday. Same for hospital workers!
Congratulations to our Halloween costume winners Karl and Russell from the movie UP.
The won with 59.3% of the votes.
They will win a $50 gift certificate from Tallyrand plus a great T-Shirt.
Watch for a story on them soon!
Tinhorn Flats is having another protest at 2 pm Saturday and then caravan to 'Burbank Town Square' at 5 pm. Someone tell us where 'Burbank Town Square is?

You park your car on the wrong side of the street on street sweeping day, you ALWAYS get a ticket. You announce on social media and news stations you are going to defy an order to save people's lives, with no penalty. This is embarrassing for Burbank. No business license to pull?
ALERT: Burbank police have been called to the AMC Theaters for a large crowd of people mad that the sound failed in their theater.
You think you have it bad waiting in those long concession stands...
Our end of the week numbers for COVID-19 in Burbank. We started Monday with 922 and finish on Friday at 992. That is 70 in 5 days and if you go back 7 days it was 882 last Friday which gives us 110 new cases in 7 days. We can do better -

Rich get richer - Council reports says food delivery companies charge restaurants between 30 and 40% fee of the order you place for delivering food. Customers also pay a fee. Burbank is looking to put a cap on this outright outrage to help restaurants during the pandemic

May not be Burbank news but none the less many of you are interested in that the Real ID's the Government is forcing everyone to get if they fly etc. has had the deadline pushed from October 1, 2020 to October 1, 2021. One less thing to stress about for some of you!
To our followers that were sad to read about the Structure Fire Tuesday at Poquito Mas, We just received word that they have made all the necessary repairs and are OPEN for lunch today. Stop by and enjoy a Baja Taco again.
Bad New Burbank, we have broke the 100 mark again for the first time in months for new COVID-19 cases. We are now at 1,855 cases, which is 102 more this week.
Past 3 weeks:
10/9 = 60
10/16 = 71
10/23 = 102

FYI-The sounds of Fireworks are being heard all over Burbank, some sound like rapid gunfire it's still Fireworks. From the North Hollywood border to Glendale Border. The closer we get to July 4th the more it's going to increase. Here in Burbank ALL Fireworks are illegal.
Another one of those reasons you live in Burbank: BPD responding to assist a person (escort) from their car to their front door because a coyote is sitting on the porch. (Only in Burbank.)
