There is no basement underneath Comet Ping Pong. Why does it matter now, nearly a decade after "Pizzagate"? The story behind the conspiracy theory and why debunking can only go so far in healing our information disorder. New post: https://t.co/3FSM43hj99

I'd previously posted about a series of engagement farming accounts with large followings that use the names of major figures in the Trump family or administration. Now, according to X's location feature, an account called "Barron Trump News" with 580,000 followers is based in
This is an expanding genre of grifting on X. These are all fake accounts that pretend to post news about a major figure associated with the Trump administration. In reality, they all regularly post fake news and engagement farming for profit. See these posts. Notice a pattern?

There are some interesting criticisms of the Covid inquiry and then there are lunatic takes like this one. The problem for the more legit crowd is that there’s no policing because they’ve been redpilled against “cancel culture”. They literally can’t call out the crazies.

The Covid report is scathing (and also points out that a mandatory lockdown could have been avoided: Lockdown could have been avoided - key findings from Covid inquiry https://t.co/4Ypv8brCFF) but for the conspiracists it’s not scathing in the unhinged way they want

The long-awaited report is published into how well or badly the government handled the Covid pandemic.
This makes me so angry. So angry! Not that I expected anything else from this pathetic excuse for an ‘inquiry’ but still, I am MAD. Lockdown saved NO lives. Lockdown TOOK lives. Lockdown was a HUGE disaster across the board. To see such lies 6 years later… 😡🤬

Conspiracy theorists will have a field day with this one and I can see why. “Why is the power company warning me about power cuts?” Some of modern life has become predictable to the point where disruption seems like deliberate conspiracy

The Spectator has put this insanity on its World section and it’s behind a paywall so you may have to trust me that it’s a delulu take on how QAnon is right and good. Looking forward to next headline “Epstein did nothing wrong”
"Only Q ever really grasped that from the moment he descended the golden escalator, Trump had, in some way, made an appointment with history which he could not shirk." ✍️ Travis Aaroe https://t.co/ZyAPGzUDY2

You know those people who hate the so-called “mainstream media”, and have a bizarre notion of how it all works? No, I don't mean those people! I mean the very concerned millennial types. Latest post, breaking down the bad arguments over “amplification”: https://t.co/Kexl7uEJm3

There are people on the left of politics who are failing to come to grips with a rise in conspiracy and violence. However those things have plagued the right for years. I don’t quite get how some right-wing activists think it’s a newish thing? https://t.co/7DbrzREE4q

I have no idea what happened over the past few days. But hopefully the BBC's new leaders will focus on truth as well as impartiality, because that's what's really at issue here.
