I got comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) ☄️ tonight from super dark central Minnesota. This is pretty good for my phone camera but I'm going to have to bust out 🔭 this week to get a really good pic. It did look spectacular in my new massive 15×70 binoculars. Like a fuzzy green ball.

I'm heading north maybe 60-70 miles to get to a very dark sky to try catch Comet Lemmon tonight. The traffic from all the leaf peepers heading home in opposite direction on 35S is already horrendous. I feel bad for anybody sitting in it. If you're up north right now, be aware.

I went out to try to catch Comet ☄️ C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) last night but clouds didn't clear before it was gone. Still have few more days to try. However, I did scout a new location to add to my #Aurora map. Weak aurora last night but this spot will be awesome next time she rippin'

Fox 9 says about 100,000 people showed up at just the Minneapolis event. Not to mention 100s other MN cities. Whether or not you think this was effective, for most of these ppl, it was a message of solidarity for each other & a small way to help stave off the creeping cynicism.

Still 6 stops from downtown Minneapolis and the train is already at capacity. Announcements being made telling people more trains are coming. The platforms are full but no one can get on. No Kings.

I got a lot of books. This is one of my rare treasures. "The Beatles in Minnesota" documenting the only Beatles concert ever in MN on 8/21/1965. These are the only high quality pics from the show. Can't wait to see Paul McCartney tonight in Minneapolis! See you there.

Sunset fighting storm clouds over Minnesota & Mississippi Rivers confluence. Tonight from St. Peter Cemetery bluff in historic Mendota One of oldest (post-European arrival) burials in MN here, 1840, but it was a traditional Dakota burial place long before settlers arrived #mnwx

The John G. Munson departed the Two Harbors port while I was visiting the breakwater lighthouse. It traveled approx 300 miles in 28 hrs to Saulte St Marie, Ontario. The Munson was built in 1952. It is 768ft long and carries coal/iron ore.

And of course, my aurora photos. Also, an original 6x6 watercolor, "Mmm Donuts" by me (lol!) along with others we all did locked inside our studios during the beginning of Covid. Come visit! There is parking but public transit is best option or free on street parking tomorrow.
