A wonderful donation on Friday, all the way from a brick quarry in Lincolnshire. Although it might look like a pile of old scrap shoes, these are actually 19th century work shoes👞 They're the first work shoes of this era to join our collection!

Sorry for the delayed #WhatsThisWednesday update folks! This is a circular paring knife, made in 1850 for display at the Great Exhibition of 1851🙌 Leatherworkers would use a paring knife to scrape away the fat, hair and blood from raw hides. Read on:
