This matters more than people realize. Fee-free stablecoin ramps across Europe means DeFi just got actual accessible infrastructure in a regulated market. Not "technically legal if you squint" - actually compliant. This is what institutional adoption actually looks like. Not

Aave just got MiCA approval and is launching fee-free stablecoin ramps across all of Europe! Regulation + DeFi isn’t a contradiction anymore, it’s the new standard. What do you think this means for stablecoins and user growth in the EU?

The most underrated skill in hiring: recognizing when someone's just good at interviewing. They have perfect answers. They know exactly what you want to hear. Their portfolio looks impressive. References check out. Then they start and it becomes clear: they're phenomenal at

Most tokenomics are designed to benefit early investors, not create sustainable value. Team gets 20% with 1-year cliff, 3-year vest. Investors get 15% at 30% discount with 6-month unlock. Advisors who did one intro call get 3%. That's 38% of supply going to people incentivized

A16z will write a 50-page thesis on why they invested in a protocol, watch it collapse six months later, then quietly remove it from their portfolio page like it never existed. The blog post stays up though. Gotta maintain that "thought leadership" while the actual leadership

The fastest way to spot a team that's about to implode: when leadership stops asking questions and only gives answers. Early stage, founders are curious. They ask the team what's working, what's not, where the bottlenecks are. They listen more than they talk. Then something

Implement safety mechanisms in the asset contract also means trusting whoever controls those mechanisms won't abuse them. We're not eliminating trust. We're just moving where we place it. Decentralization theater vs actual resilience is still the same tradeoff it's always been.

The safety mechanisms to deal with hacks have to be implemented in the asset smart contract. Like token22. Otherwise DeFi at global scale just won’t work. The complexity of the human world has to go somewhere. If it’s not expressed ahead of time in software there is

Founders will make the worst decision possible, watch it blow up in real-time, then post "sometimes you have to make tough calls that not everyone understands" like they're Steve Jobs instead of someone who just burned $2M on Instagram ads for a product with no PMF.

There's a middle ground he's not addressing: Uniswap doesn't need constant parameter adjustments like Aave does. Lending protocols have active risk that requires ongoing governance. Uniswap's AMM mostly just... works. The real question isn't centralized vs decentralized

My concerns around the Uniswap Labs proposal: While I appreciate Hayden’s and Uniswap Labs’ commitment to refocusing attention on the Uniswap protocol, and while that may be the right direction for them, I find that the proposal does not lead to the best outcome when applied

The worst advice that keeps getting repeated: "just keep shipping features and users will come." No they won't. You know what happens when you keep adding features nobody asked for? You build a bloated product that's confusing to use and impossible to maintain. I've seen teams

The number of crypto projects that treat their token launch as the finish line instead of the starting line is the reason most of them are dead within a year. Everything leads up to TGE. The hype. The community building. The partnerships announced. The influencer campaigns. The

Most crypto projects fail because they're solving problems the team finds interesting, not problems users actually have. "We built a decentralized file storage system with quantum-resistant encryption and cross-chain verification." Cool. Who asked for this? What problem does

A DAO will spend 6 months and $200k in governance votes deciding what color to make their new logo. Then the founder's multisig unilaterally sells $5M from the treasury and posts "had to move fast for strategic reasons." Decentralized decision-making only applies to things that

Someone will have "10+ years in crypto" in their bio then you check their LinkedIn and it's 2 years at Coinbase as a customer support rep and 8 years of "advising projects" with zero outcomes listed. Crypto years are like dog years. Everyone rounds up and nobody checks the math.
