6/ ⚖️ Understanding Catholic schools' value added is crucial, mainly when public funds are used to finance them through school vouchers. My research sheds light on this significance, bridging the gap in our understanding of high-performing schools.

5/ 🌐 The positive results in academic outcomes, mainly among female students, cream skimming, and similarities in school model characteristics, suggest that high-achieving charter schools in the U.S. mirror a secular version of Catholic Schools.

4/ 🕵️‍♂️ Regarding mechanisms, I uncover that cream-skimming of lower-ability male students in Catholic schools, coupled with stricter discipline and greater parental involvement, may contribute to superior academic outcomes- resembling high-achieving charter schools in the US.

3/ While male students are more likely to take the college entry exam, Female students entirely drive the positive effects of scoring above the national mean on math and reading.

2/ After four years, attending a Catholic school instead of a public school increases the likelihood of taking the Chilean College Entry Exam by 17% and raises the chances of scoring above the national mean in math and reading.

1/ 📚 Excited to share my JMP on Catholic schools, the world's largest nongovernmental school network. By leveraging Chile's lottery-based admission system, I estimate the impact of attending Catholic schools vs. voucher-secular and public schools on academic outcomes.
