Dragging up two mini monsters in the Cornish countryside whilst trying to be a (un)perfect farming wife and mother. It involves a lot of mess, mud and mayhem.

We often hear that farmers are to blame for water pollution, but the reality is more complex. Key stats shaping policy (like ag contributing 61% of nitrogen in rivers) rely on research thatβs 25-30 yrs old. Hereβs a closer look at the full picture ππΌ https://t.co/dqPnKVNaNT

Farming has become the default villain in Britainβs water pollution story. The narrative is familiar β nutrients in rivers rise, ecology declines and

We managed to catch the twins of the dead ewe. We had to bring them all into the handling race to pull them out. They've gone straight for the lamb nuts and hay/straw so I think maybe they're hungry.

This is Milky Chops this morning - he looks like he hasn't been fed in a week! Farmer fed him a bottle last night. I've just given him a bottle. He's still rumped up and looks empty.

Last night I made an egg and bacon pie completely from scratch. Then got caught up in emails and forgot my pie. So it's a little bit tough. 1

It's 7.20pm. We've just had to haul a lamb out from between two fences - in a fairly newly fenced field with good fences and pick up a ewe that's dropped dead. I've spent twenty minutes trying to catch her lambs in the dark to bring in (no luck) Sheep... The fun that never ends!

Milky chops isn't doing very well. He is still rumped up, and still not putting on weight. We're throwing everything at him but if he doesn't turn around in the next 24 hours I think we will lose him.

I think I would have more time if I wasn't always looking for the thing I "just had in my hands"...

I love chickens. I have reared chickens since I was small, even bred them. Farmer loves eggs. I thought it was a win win. But I didn't know until this week that he actually hates chickens. He thinks they're evil and out to get him. π€£π€£π€£

Farmer has given milky chops his evening feed. "Cor, he's sucking the bottle well" Says Farmer, followed by "I think he's filling out already". I think my work here is done π€£ Machine tomorrow!

Oh he's gonna be trouble.... I don't encourage this in lambs, especially not boys. The last ram I made tame would headbutt us all. So it's not a thing we allow on this farm.

Maybe I'm not right in the head. Thug life is being a bit of a bruiser, but he's also really tame so I thought maybe I could introduce him to the outdoors!

They're not happy with me..... Today is weaning day. No more milk from here on in. This is not only decided by age and size but by the fact they are eating through all the teats! Imagine that happening on the poor mums with lambs!
