Last day of undergrad 7 years ago vs. last day of nursing training. I was so so unwell w/ depression & undiagnosed PTSD in 2013 it was a miracle that dissertation got submitted. The right meds, EMDR therapy, a lot of hard work & I’m 7 years stronger, in a whole new career 💪🏻💪🏻

i’m quite vocally not the biggest fan of a lot of the choices the writers made with berena but bernie wolfe remains one of the most important and influential characters on tv for me. her impact on my life at a time when i was struggling with my identity was immense actually.

At placement there’s a new nurse started & in conversation w/ a group she kept referring to her “partner”. When it was just us 2 talking, she started saying “my wife”. She pointed out my rainbow lanyard & said she knew it would be safe to tell me & it’s made me really emotional🌈

It’s my mum’s 64th birthday today and in the past year she’s had two major surgeries, been shielding since March, weaned herself off all her strong painkillers & kicked her abusive ex out the house after 20 years. Don’t know a stronger woman, she’s my absolute inspiration 💪🏻💛

Positive story time! Last wk I looked after a man w/ covid-19. He was v v sick. We were were reading messages from his family to him as he was almost completely unresponsive. Yesterday, he was sitting up in a chair able to FaceTime & speak to his family & celebrate his birthday.
