Francis, who played at Oregon, had a big impact on the career of another UO grad, Neil Everett, when they were both in Hawaii. From a story I wrote in 2015:

My takeaway from last two Blazers seasons: The NBA system for deciding draft order is rotten and needs to be fixed so teams don't have to lose on purpose. Heck, give the No. 1 pick to the team with best record outside playoffs. Incentivize wins, not losses. Tanking is a cancer.

My recommendation: If you have to, have to trade Dame, make sure you get Otis Thorpe, Marcelo Nicola and a draft pick with which you can take Randolph Childress. And send him to a team that will win the title next season.
