#WeeklyAstroMeeting we had two fantastic internal seminars: Juanita: the degree of dust settling and turbulence in highly inclined protoplanetary discs & Lilian: modelling dust evolution and substructures in protoplanetary disks: Insights from the AGE-PRO ALMA Program πͺππ‘ππ

Congratulations Ross! ππ«‘πͺ.
And Runner-up for Best Poster was awarded to:. β΄οΈRoss Dobson (@MSSLSpaceLab @UCL_CDT_DIS): How many radial velocity observations are required to mass-characterise exoplanets? π. Well done to all who took part for the high-quality of presentations!.

@msslastro has lost a valued friend and colleague held in the highest esteem. Other than 2 years at Harvard (1977-1979), Prof Graziella Branduardi-Raymont spent her fantastic 49-year career at @MSSLSpaceLab, starting with her PhD in 1974.

Dr Paola Pinilla is an Associate Professor in @msslastro since 2021 - congratulations!.
Congratulations to MSSL's Dr Paola Pinilla. She has been awarded the prestigious 2024 New Horizons in Physics prize for advancing our understanding of how planets form from dusty discs around stars!

Swift's UVOT @MSSLastro & @BucketHatAlice played a small but important role in identifying a black hole in a distant galaxy repeatedly nibbling on a Sun-like star. Discovered by @swift_phil 's novel Swift X-ray Transient Detector.
