Today is World Diabetes Day. More than 800 million people have diabetes, most of whom live in low- and middle-income countries. For people w/ type 1 diabetes, insulin is lifesaving, but it's often unavailable in low-resource and emergency settings and unaffordable elsewhere.

💊Patents, trade policy, and why people's access to the medicines they need is at stake. @johnroshanj on India’s Free Trade Agreements with high-income countries, how they could mean higher medicine prices around the world, and why transparency in their negotiation matters.
🚨 Medicine prices in India are under threat. New Free Trade Agreements with developed countries could mean higher medicine prices and block affordable generics. 🧵 Here’s how 👇 #AccessDenied episode▶️ https://t.co/pyVZZwShMF
