This 8th grade team is a dynamic duo! We’re trying something new by tackling the POETTS strategy while reading “The Raven” and answering open ended STAAR questions this unit. I’m not surprised that these two teachers were nominated for TOTY together at @SmithMS_CFISD 🎉🥳

Mrs. Le & Mr. Peters are a 🌟DYNAMIC🌟 duo! Students used sentence strips with their groups to decide which one was to the extraneous detail. Great way to get our students talking about revision before tackling STAAR questions over the skill! @SmithMS_CFISD

Mrs. Smith-Williams & Ms. Le got students up & moving with an informational gallery walk last week! 🖼️ Students had to look at a variety of informational texts and figure out what subgenre they fall in. Then, students justified their answers. 😎 @SmithMS_CFISD
