A big thank you to Mr. R. for leading us on a nature walk today to help us explore our Science unit on Habitats & Communities. We discovered many producers & consumers as we enjoyed the great outdoors. Our curious eyes spotted a chickadee, snake, salamander & more! @alcdsb_mart

As one student said this week, "I was nervous to paint at first but look what I did!" I love seeing the individuality, creativity, style & sense of pride that comes through in art class. Painting is a favourite! @alcdsb_mart

Today, we were travelling across Canada in a scavenger hunt! Lots of running, thinking & working together! We are finding all sorts of ways to learn the provinces and territories. We think Ontario looks like a dragon, Nova Scotia is a line & Yukon is a triangle! @alcdsb_mart

Our first STEM challenge of the year! Students were super engaged during the design & creation of their egg drop project. We cheered "3-2-1!" as the eggs were dropped from the second floor above. 6 eggs survived, 3 became scrambled eggs! Awesome teamwork & thinking! @alcdsb_mart

There's just something about reading a good book together. We are on pg 281 & I still hear cheers of excitement when it's time to pull out our novels! I love hearing students take turns reading the story aloud & sharing the happy, sad & heartwarming parts together. @alcdsb_mart

We're enjoying some tasty snacks this week as we learn about healthy eating. Yesterday was zucchini bread and today, some delicious oranges! We are keen to incorporate more fruits & veggies into our daily meals as suggested in Canada's Food Guide. 🍊🥒@alcdsb_mart
