⚡️Zelensky: “We will rebuild, every house, every street, every city.”
“We say to Russia, learn the words reparation and contribution, you’ll repay us everything.”
Those who argue that Ukraine should give up its desire to join NATO don’t understand Ukraine. At all.
It’s not about NATO, it’s about Ukraine having the right to decide its own fate. No one will take this away from us.
Over 300,000 Russians fled their country within a week. They now have freedom of speech.
Where are their anti war protests? Their posts condemning the war? Anything? Exactly.
⚡️It looks like Zelensky canceled taxes amid war.
“Instead of VAT & income tax we give you a 2% tax rate and simplified accounting. For small businesses - we set a voluntary payment of a single tax. If you can - pay. You can't - no questions asked,” said Zelensky.
The Polish jet scheme is actually brilliant.
Poland gets new U.S. planes instead of old Soviet ones, gains recognition for their lead in assisting Ukraine in need, while also not directly being part of arm supplies to a country at war with Russia.
Zelensky rejected U.S. offer to evacuate him from Kyiv -
@washingtonpost
.
President is in the capital, leading our nation through its darkest hour.
Earlier today, he told NATO leaders he might be killed, he’s not lying. I have so much respect for him. True leader!
⚡️ “I invite Merkel and Sarkozy to visit Bucha and to see the outcome of 14 years of concessions to Russia,” Zelensky said in his video address.
“You will see with your own eyes the tortured Ukrainians.”
“Dear Ukrainians, your relatives — wives, parents, children — who were forced to leave for Poland, are not refugees in our country, they are our guests,” said Polish President Duda.
Ukrainians will never forget everything that Poland has been doing for us.
⚡️Zelensky basically tells the UN to either act and prevent further Russian atrocities from being carried out in Ukraine, or to dissolve.
“The UN Charter has been violated literally, starting with Article 1. What is then the point of all the others?”
Please do watch his speech.
With three Russian bases suddenly catching fire over the past 48 hours, it’s worth remembering one thing:
- Ukraine has every right to destroy Russian military targets wherever they are. That’s how war works.
Ukraine is defending itself.
I’m utterly disgust with how Russians are more dissatisfied with losing Spotify than with the fact that their country is bombing Ukrainian cities, killing hundreds of civilians, including dozens of children.
You give Ukraine the planes, no you give Ukraine the planes.
Either this some next level mind game tactic, or two countries , part of the strongest millitary alliance in history, are scared to anger a guy, who’s getting bullied by Ukrainian farmers.
⚡️Zelensky: “Nearly 13,000 dead invaders, that’s more than in both Chechen Wars, Russia lost thousands of military vehicles, 74 planes, 86 helicopters, we know that they have more, but we also know that we’ll continue to defend our land.”
⚡️Zelensky: "What the enemy is doing in Kharkiv, Okhtyrka, Kyiv, Odesa, and other cities and towns merits an international tribunal.”
“We record all their crimes."
Listening to Lavrov talking about “a possible compromise,” after Russia killed what looks like tens of thousands of people, I don’t see Ukraine accepting anything less than Russian withdrawal from Donbas, including Donetsk & Luhansk.
There’s no middle ground anymore.
⚡️Occupied regional capital Kherson is going full Orwell today.
Russians seized the local TV tower & began airing Russian propaganda networks. Now, SBU says they are moving in people from Crimea to stage a scene where Russian troops are greeted as “liberators.”
“War is Peace.”
It looks like Russia’s war against Ukraine might actually lead to a regime change…but in Germany.
A political scandal is looming after members of the coalition government accuses Chancellor Scholz of doing too little to help Ukraine.
I can feel how the whole country is awaiting good news from Kherson Oblast, checking the news every five minutes.
I also feel how the whole country is praying for Ukrainian soldiers, hoping they will return home alive.
⚡️Mariupol city council reports deaths of hunger in the city. Says many are starving.
This is happening in Europe now. Don’t tell me that the world can’t do more to prevent this.
Every fucking day you see people you know, or see often somewhere, die defending Ukraine.
Hundreds, thousands of people, who lived their peaceful lives at home, are now dead because of Russians.
It’s Easter, a young Ukrainian family is killed by a Russian missile in Odesa.
Zelensky is barely holding back tears, calling the perpetrators “scumbags,” in an largely off-script speech, filled with grief.
Putin, the perpetrator, goes to church for a photo op.
Let’s be honest, Ukraine isn’t winning this war. But Ukraine has a chance of doing so.
For that to happen, the EU must ban Russian energy imports and NATO must provide Ukraine with all the weapons it needs.
A month ago it would have been hard to imagine French President Emmanuel Macron trying to copy President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Now it’s the reality we live in.
This is becoming an interesting pattern, in Russian cities close to the Ukrainian border, oil depots are suddenly catching fire.
This video is from Bryansk.
Saying that Russians and Ukrainians are brothers and should just make peace is as disrespectful as saying the same about Jews and German Nazis.
The scale of atrocities committed by Russian people in Ukraine, and the support such actions are getting in Russia, are unimaginable.
Today Russia fired 12 missiles, worth nearly $100 million in total (according to Forbes Ukraine), to shutdown electricity in four Ukrainian regions for several hours.
Meanwhile, millions of Russians still don’t have a sewerage.
⚡️Russia agrees to provide a humanitarian corridor to evacuate those injured and to deliver food and medicine to civilians shelled by their troops.
Ukraine must be careful with this, the last time Russia allowed a humanitarian corridor, it was in August 2014 in Ilovaisk.
Russia is doubling down on its wild claim that Israel supports “Nazis,” saying a lot of Jews are fighting along with the Azov regiment.
Best PR for Azov in 8 years.
We’re at a point where Russia invades a country, occupies several cities, declares them to be part of Russia and threatens the world with nuclear war if it disagrees.
If this is allowed to stand, our world order in done.
Donbas is living hell.
As everyone turns off their lights today in warm beds, in peaceful cities, think about the soldiers defending your comfort, think about those who die for you to live.
So am I reading this right? The U.S. is holding off sanctions against Putin’s mistress Kabayeva, because they are afraid that he’ll get angry and escalate?
They expect him to what, invade a neighbouring country and commit war crimes? Oh, wait…
Zelensky on Bucha:
“Hundreds of people were killed. Tortured, executed civilians. Bodies on the streets.“
“Murderers, torturers, rapists, looters, who call themselves the army, and who deserve only death after what they did.”
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is in Kyiv meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky.
A week prior, State Secretary Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin stopped by.

You see people you know die defending Ukraine, you hear ordinary people being killed, tortured, raped.
And then you read about European countries paying for Russian gas in rubles and saying that an oil embargo will hurt them, while arms shipments would provoke Russia…
⚡️Defence Ministry now says that Russia may be using peace talks to catch a breath, and reinforce its ground troops prior to launching a new offensive.
“I’m beginning to think that those who say that it is useless to talk to (Putin) and that it’s just a waste of time are right,” said Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi.
It took them a while…
A lot of bad things are happening to a lot of good people.
Thinking about Ukrainian soldiers at Azovstal, and elsewhere, and all of their families. So much pain.
Putin’s war “to prevent Ukraine from joining NATO” leads to neutral Finland officially declaring its intention to join the alliance and most likely being admitted within months.
Strategic genius.
⚡️Russia now accuses “Ukrainian nationalists” of planning terrorist attacks on Ukrainian cities and foreign nationals “to blame Russia.”
As always, the Kremlin blames others of doing what it seeks to orchestrate.
Worrisome development.
Russians are retreating form Kyiv Oblast en masse.
Bucha, Hostomel and tens of other towns and villages are now under the Ukrainian flag.
A decisive loss for Russia near Kyiv.
I remind everyone that Russia doesn’t fully control any of the four regions it is now trying to annex.
The Ukrainian army is on the offensive in all four regions. Russians are scared.
⚡️UN’s ban on the word “war” in relation to Russia’s war against Ukraine should be effectively the end of this organization.
A reminder that Russia was chairing the UN Security Council when it launched its full-scale invasion.
My good friend bought an apartment in Irpin in early fall, he had a housewarming party in late September. He was so happy to finally have his own place, in a cozy suburb.
Now, his building, together with those nearby, is completely destroyed by Russian missiles. Heartbreaking.
What’s with the Russian obsession with the Kherson Airport in Chornobayevka?
Ukraine strikes the Russian-controlled airport for the 10th time now killing Russian Lieutenant General Yakov Ryazantsev.
I think that’s the 7th general dead, according to Ukraine.
Russia’s Peskov says the attack on the oil depot in Belgorod doesn’t help peace talks.
Apparently, the destruction of Ukrainian cities and the murder of Ukrainians does.
Peskov also says “Russian air superiority is an absolute fact.” 🙃
“We will overcome everything.
And we know this for sure, because our military and all our people are descendants of those who overcame Nazism. So they will win again.
And there will be peace again. Finally again!”
NYT, following German “intellectuals” and French President Emmanuel Macron, are now proposing territorial concessions to Putin’s Russia to stop the war.
I agree, give him Alaska.
Russia said it “liberated” Volnovakha, Donetsk Oblast on March 12, after sixteen days of heavy shelling.
This is how Russian “liberation” looks like. A city of 20,000 people now doesn’t exist.
According to Ukraine’s Armed Forces, Russia lost over 1,000 tanks since the start of the full-scale invasion.
No European country, except Ukraine and Russia, even has that many tanks.
The main question now, is what happens to Western sanctions if Ukraine and Russia do sign a peace treaty.
If sanctions are lifted, it will be a major win for Putin.
A railway bridge gets tired and collapses in Russia’s Kursk region, while explosions are heard in the country’s Belgorod region, where a military facility suddenly caught fire.
I can’t get this photo out of my head.
A man is holding the hand of his 13-year-old son, killed when Russia shelled Kharkiv. The policewoman is holding the man’s hand as he prays over his son’s body.
No words.
Putin compared himself with Peter I, saying that Russia is on a quest to “return” its land.
According to Meduza, Russia is planning to unite most Ukrainian lands occupied by Moscow into one “Russian region.”
If this doesn’t scream give Ukraine more arms, I don’t know what does.
The most important news from today is that the marines from the 36th Marine Brigade, low on ammunition, were able to breach enemy lines and connect with the Azov Regiment in Mariupol.
I think about them every day.
⚡️Ukraine will try to evacuate civilians from Mariupol today at noon. Russia again promised a humanitarian corridor.
Yesterday, the evaluation failed as Russia didn’t stop shelling the city and its suburbs.
Several days ago, one of my favourite pizza places in Kyiv opened its doors for customers. They are also feeding the Ukrainian Army and the Territorial Defense.
A bit of normal in this horrible time.
