The 3 main equations showed in vector form with dot product. z_L -> Holds weighted activation plus bias.a_L -> Activation.C -> Cost Function.With each iteration, the network gets a little bit better.

The mathematics that is being used which includes multivariable calculus. Here:.a = Activity.b = Bias.w = Weight.Sigma = Activation function.Backprop might seem complex, but it's actually a series of simple calculations repeated over and over.

Example.After the network makes a guess (e.g., says the image is a cat, but it's a dog), backprop calculates the error. It then travels backward through the network, tweaking the connections slightly to get closer to the correct answer (dog).

Initially we set all weights and biases to be a random number and so we get meaningless data initially. Then we define a Cost function which is, the sum of square of differences between output of our model and desired output. Our goal is to minimize the value of cost function.

Backpropagation iteratively update the values of all the weights and biases such that the network learns to classify input data based on a set of training examples. Training is done by using some kind of labelled data which are pairs of matching inputs and outputs.

Imagine a neural network like a maze. It takes an input (like an image) and tries to get the right output (recognizing the object in the image). Backprop helps adjust the connections between neurons. So backprop first looks at output neurons and works back through the network.
