The only annoying thing is that kysely generates raw string for tstzrange columns. You can solve this with a branded type + customImports + typeMapping

tstzrange is so underpowered i can't even explain. The fact you can create a DB constraint that prevents ranges from overlapping is simply beautiful. Very useful for easily controlling things that expire AND need some audit of when it was active Thanks @JarrodRuhland for the

One of the best things in the world is to be surrounded by people smarter than you. We hired a new person to lead a key area at Brex and I swear to god, that dude is cracked. Makes me feel like an entry level eng again, insane

friendly reminder that zod 4 codecs are an awesome API. LLMs aren't that good yet since their cut off dates, but it's a very solid way of encoding/decoding data super useful to decrease the amt of code you need to write

Yesterday I built a fully local TUI app to help me organize my net-worth/investments. Some features: - cash floor - custom asset classes + target bands - FIRE simulator - recommendation engine crazy how far Opus + a handful of prompts can take you hereโs a little demo:

one thing that astonishes me: how bad some engineers are at choosing sane defaults. Why do you have to fetch 1000 rows if no limit is passed? Are you crazy? Why poll every fucking second? Go with something more reasonable for your usecase. Don't be greedy

A very sharp and experienced engineer showed me mise. After using for the last 3 days, it's hard to imagine going back to anything else - asdf and friends don't come close

every experience I had with @Shopify's API was legit ๐ฏ. From first-time onboarding, to Hydrogen setup, Github deployment, LLM integrations, their GraphQL API design, BFF experiences, and more. They even open a PR for you... how can a company of this size be that good?

the most annoying thing about @cursor_ai right now: how it hijacks any changes you make and thinks it belongs to the agent. Keep having to accept its suggestions to make the diff-ui disappear

Serious question: do Apple engineers really use XCode? Its GPT integration is a complete joke. Fails to complete even the most basic request. How the heck a 4 TRILLION dollar company ship this?

If I was starting something today, Iโd give @cnakazawa โs fate a serious try. It takes the best of Relay ideas that are dear to my heart (colocation, masking, fat query) and make them accessible to tRPC backends. Such a nice API!
