In #math, it's essential to understand that conceptual and procedural knowledge develop in tandem. We can't have one without the other. Math intervention needs to reflect this. @pjr146 @4ScienceofMath

Woke up this morning thinking about my son's 4th grade science project. All researchers leave good data on the cutting room floor-- you lose interest, you don't have time, etc. But we should have published those data :) He was curious about whether our dog was color blind.

All about the instructional match!!!
Codding & I experimentally manipulated instructional match. Aligned instruction in math = stronger learning gains. Children rated aligned instruction as more acceptable. Self-reported anxiety was reduced w exposure & when instruction was aligned. p.s., MBLs are harder than RCTs🙃

@SchettinoPBL @davidwees An equation has an equal sign and shows that two expressions are equal. I'd use equation instead of math sentence to help students learn and use the formal language of math.
