Reflecting on an uplifting and informative SPPC Conference yesterday. Brilliant speakers, and a coming together of like-minded professionals with a shared vision and cause. And super proud of our 3rd year medical student Bobbi for her poster presentation! 🤩 @Palliative_Scot

I always said this over the years when asked “so are you going to specialise or *just* be a GP” Erm, GP’s ARE specialists! They’re specialist generalists, specialists in managing risk and specislists in having to know a helluva lot about a helluva lot! They’re indispensable!

The skill set & breadth of knowledge that GPs have is so poorly understood GPs ARE consultants- specialised in managing undifferentiated patients Complexity is ⬆️ & the risk is huge There’s no cheap alternative that is SAFE - Patients lives are NOT there to be gambled with!

Excellent infographic below outlining the stark difference between the training of a PA vs a fully qualified GP. Make sure you check who is actually treating you at your next practice/hospital visit. #askforadoctor
