After thinking more about this, I have decided I probably wouldn’t be able to do justice to my MC’s lived experiences as a black man, even one that sometimes passes as white with white people. (I have an extended family member for whom this is true). I feel good about this change

..I’m unsure what I should do. His background is important to his development as a character throughout the series so changing his skin colour/parents will change the arc of the story. The books will be spy thrillers so plot is most important but I love this character as he is.2/

#WritingCommunity I have a dilemma that I’ve been struggling with for awhile. My #WIP’s MC is a very light skinned black man (black father, white mother) & I deal with racism in only a small & anecdotal way, written prior to recent events. I don’t want to seem insensitive but..1/

My cat has recently discovered “outside” and now she can’t get enough. She’s currently meowing to get out even though it’s almost 11pm.
