This week I was the very first black woman to graduate from the Uni of Glasgow with a PhD in Physics. I'm a proud Black British woman from LDN. I made space for myself in a predominantly white, male field. It was hard, but with the support of my family & my community, I did it.

I'm so glad he filmed this. Sad too. He's captured how white privilege is called upon. Here she is, using her understanding of her white privilege, to strike fear. Here she is, assured that identifying him as African American could *only* mean bad things for him.
Videos like this serve as a reminder that it is simply untrue when White people say they “don’t see colour” because they very much see race and have an instinctual understanding of how it will always work in their favour.
