I’m with you @Jay_HorwitzPR. That first game back was a career highlight in the way the entire organization honored our neighbors and first responders. I recall people were wondering if fanswould come out and we had 41,000 strong show up. Piazza’s home run was icing on the cake.
Tomorrow will be a tough day for us all. But in my 40+ years with the @Mets I am still most proud of how our team helped the city heal after September 11th.

It was my pleasure to be interviewed by Chris O’Leary, Director of the Sandel Senior Center. We talked about how much the Center has meant to my family and a little about myself and our awesome Village. It will begin airing on the Village channel and website on Sept. 7th.

In celebration of the Mets extending their MLB-best all time Opening Day win-loss record, here’s a throwback to my early years at Shea when I had to escort off a young fan as the game was about to begin. He was not pleased, as you can see.

Very sorry to hear of the passing of Al Jackson. He signed a polaroid picture at my first Mets game in 1965. I would later be a HS teammate and friend of his son Barry, and then worked with Al over two decades with the Mets. Total class and gentleman.
