There is a difference in getting signal vs noise for video vs text. In text you just have views, so clickbait can get a lot of views. In video clickbait will get views but will not get watch time. That’s a big difference to get signal on high quality content.
Elon Musk is right. The creator payouts have led to a vast amount of quality content on YouTube. Creating good content requires effort, and you will get more of it when that effort is rewarded. For this to work, X needs a head of product who does not prefer rewarding slop
