He was a great supporter of India's trade and investment initiatives with UK and Commonwealth Countries. I still remember the evening in 2008 celebrating his 70th Birthday at Taj hotel in Mumbai with his family and friends. We will all miss him.

I am shocked and saddened to hear about the sad demise of Padma Bhushan Rahul Bajaj. He was a great friend and my mentor when we organised the first Commonwealth Business Forum in 1997 in London and later set up the Commonwealth Business Council.

I had the opportunity to listen to Prime Minister Johnson’s speech last night at the Neasden Temple. It was an inspiring speech for British Indians who Mr Johnson acclaimed have made tremendous contribution to the United Kingdom.

Mr Jaitley was a generous man helping number of people who approached him for help for children’s education ,illness and other support. For many years he was recognised as the highest tax payer in New Delhi.

He later participated in our event on Bankruptcy and Distressed Investment market in India by video conferencing link at London Business School. He was very pleased with the outcome of the event and encouraged us to organise the event annually.

He was a great supporter of IPF. He had agreed to speak at our event On “India’s Global Vision” at Chatham house on 12th April 2018. However the event was cancelled a few days earlier because of his ill health.
