we've been stuck at Preston since around 630pm with 50 12 year olds. It's now 10.08pm. We've just been informed that there is no way of getting us home to Glasgow, as we can't send kids alone on taxis. A staff member has said we are effectively stuck here.

One last mention for Mick's Hut in Preston. Didn't have enough stock at 9pm to serve us all, but after some calls buckets of potatoes arrived by car! 40 mins later we were all fed for a fraction of the real cost. Heart warming that there are businesses like this around ❤️❤️

Thankfully,we have been able to resource, on our own, a coach to take us home. If we had not, we would have 50 young children abandoned on the streets of Preston once the station closes. Apologies from your wonderful staff here are kind but not enough. Very poor.

at Preston station. They offered us mo safe route home, and we made it back only due to sourcing transport ourselves. Today they have confirmed they will not be offering any financial compensation over and 1/3

Avanti intends to pay the children not a single penny above their legal obligation, despite admitting failures in keeping the children safe that night. We shall take this to the ombudsman in the hope proper compensation can be achieved for the children this company abandoned.

Above the ticket refund to the children. The best offer they can give are tickets for empty seats on their trains.When asked for the financial equivalent,as for many families these tickets are useless, they have told us we're being unreasonable and that it is tax payers money 2/3

Update. Our train has been cancelled again. Avanti are now looking to secure a coach for us. We are buying the students chips from one of the few places still open locally. We will update once we have more information. Thank you for your patience.

However the company's procedures in dealing with vulnerable groups needs to be revisited. These groups should not be reliant on someone having Twitter to DM you, IMO.

We said we'd be back to say hi one day + a promise is a promise. What we didn't expect was Micks Hut Preston to arrive at station later with hundreds of pounds worth of food+drink to give to the kids for free. Chips pizzas garlic bread + juice. Please retweet for these legends ❤️

***Update*** We have been given the first class carriage on the 2143 service (the next one) which should arrive at 00.08am on Glasgow. We have been assured that this service will be running. All have been given bottled water. Will update when on train. Thanks for your patience

came at 10.36pm, 4 hours after we were taken off the train, and after being told by staff HERE, there was no more they could do for us. Facts are sacred.

I remember my Grandpa who passed away aged 98 a couple of months back.Joined in '39 giving up his youth to fight for freedom so future generations didn't have to + never asked to be thanked for it. Was a hero to me,although he always said the real heroes never came home

N5 Mods students produced record results. Over 60%

Mods students with an A and 83% with a A or B on a large presentation is outstanding. Higher as well doing superbly as ever with over half gaining an A and 70% gaining an A or B, again on a huge presentation.

Another record breaking results year. 60% of our Higher group received an A (with a staggering18 band 1s) and 50% of our N5 group received an A too. 71% A/B pass rate at both levels. All passed Advanced Higher and a 56% A pass rate in a very tricky Higher Politics course. 1/2
