Now we hear the Israelis did it without US approval. Very believable. There has been friction between the two countries. I have thought that the Israelis would be working on "decoupling" from the US in military matters since Biden soured on them. That explains this move.
Both Trump administrations loved the gulf arabs. The Abraham accords and various state visits proved that well enough. As did the support in Yemen. And the investment deals. And even before them US military bases required the hospitality of Qatar. This is a dramatic change.
