It seems that recently we have been seeing small Betas due to the preparation for the shield patterns. Starting from Minecraft 1.19.80.21 we can see line "textures/entity/shield_patterns" in the game lib. The code hasn't changed after this, so we can expect this feature soon 🛡️.

The mention of recipes for Shield with Banners is also in the code of the last Preview 🤠
Looks like they're about to add "Shield with banner" thing to bedrock edition (unconfirmed) (bindings found in ui_common.json, v1.19.80.20 preview)
