UPDATE: Crews have completed seal coat operations on the ramps near Madelia and they have reopened to traffic (8/14 at 8:30 am).

Don’t be surprised if you see MnDOT snowplows out on the highways in Mankato this August! We are hosting a two-week Snowplow Operator Training Aug. 11-22. While there's no snow in sight, 12 new operators are learning skills to keep state highways safe this winter.

UPDATE (8/13): The concrete repairs on westbound Highway 14 east of Janesville are complete and the highway is expected to reopen to traffic by 2 pm today, August 13.

Eastbound I-90, west of Blue Earth, will be temporarily closed on Tuesday, August 12 from approximately 8:30 to 9:30 am for law enforcement’s reconstruction of a crash. Traffic will be detoured to 320th Ave., County Road 16 (110th St.), and Highway 169.

Madelia motorists: Expect temporary daytime ramp closures August 12-14, weather permitting, as crews complete seal coating work near Highway 60 in the Madelia area to extend pavement life. Traffic will be detoured during operations.

Starting Aug. 11, westbound Hwy 14 east of Janesville will be closed between Waseca Co. Rd. 17 (73rd St) and Co. Rd. 33 (50th St) as crews complete concrete panel replacement work. Traffic will be detoured for about a week to Old U.S. Highway 14.

Work is moving along smoothly on Highway 60 through Lake Crystal! The project is expected to be complete in October, weather permitting. Follow updates and watch progress here:

Highway 91 between 1st St. and Pearl St. in Adrian will be closed starting Aug. 4 for appx. a week as the Ellis & Eastern Railroad replaces the railroad crossing across the highway. Traffic will be detoured to 1st Street, Indiana Avenue, and Pearl Street.

Hwy 15 between 10th St & Goemann Rd in Fairmont will be resurfaced starting Aug. 4. Motorists should expect lane closures & turn-lane restrictions. Drivers should slow down, watch for flaggers & be alert for workers & equipment. The project is expected to be complete in late Aug.

MnDOT will be working on the westbound Hwy 14 bridge over 3rd Ave tonight in Mankato from 6 pm-12 am. The entrance ramp from Riverfront Dr. to westbound Hwy 14 will be closed. Westbound Hwy 14 will be reduced to a single lane in this area. Expect delays.

Construction on Highway 22 between Mankato and St. Peter is progressing well. Highway 22 is expected to reopen for the winter months, before construction resumes in spring 2026. For more project information visit:

UPDATE: Hwy 15 South of Searles has reopened to traffic following a crash earlier this afternoon. (7/22 at 5:46 pm).

TRAFFIC ALERT - Hwy 15 south of Searles is closed due to a crash. Watch for emergency vehicles. Motorists should use alternate routes.

Heading to the Blue Earth County Fair July 24-27?.Due to the Hwy 60 reconstruction through Lake Crystal, expect increased traffic on Hwy 169 & Co. Rd. 13. To avoid delays, Southbound Hwy 169 motorists are encouraged to use Blue Earth Co. Rd. 38 for the easiest route to the fair.

Highway 4, from just south of Sleepy Eye to Brown Co. Rd. 24, reopened to traffic today, July 19. Motorists should anticipate intermittent lane closures and flagging operations between Sleepy Eye and St. James as crews complete final work on the project.

Progress continues on the Highway 93 Henderson project as it moves through the second year of construction. The project is expected to be complete in late 2026, weather permitting. For more project information visit:
