Sharing this here, a colleague posted this on LinkedIn. It pushes our thinking around #EDI by asking critical questions worth reflecting on #EquityDiversityInclusion

If children only sharpen their brains at school, there’s no guarantee they won’t go on to make trouble. To balance their keen brains, they need a warm heart. The more compassionate they learn to be, the more useful members of society they’re likely to become.

Giving “the talk of my life” was a dream come true. Saturday, I was able to walk the stage after 3 months of writing, editing, and memorizing. TEDxSaltLakeCity was an amazing experience that has forever changed me. #tedxspeaker #tedxsaltlakecity #publicspeaking #radicalreframe

My father did not dream of a colorblind society. He dreamed of a World House where the terrors of white supremacy, colonialism & imperialism are eradicated. And of a Beloved Community where extreme materialism, poverty, racism & war are not horrifying blights against humanity.

Thank you for recognizing and sharing this. Our State board members need to be held accountable, too. #DEI needs to be in our schools.

It shouldn’t take a girl dying for this to be brought to the worlds attention! Izzy was 10… and multiple people in “administration” were told about this problem and did nothing! 💔

How do people read something, insert a phrase and the pass it off as what she’s saying? When they are trying their hardest to prove they are not as wrong wrong wrong as they are. I’m starting to feel sorry for them. This is sad.

Well well well, if it's isn't Kimberlé Crenshaw, founder of critical race theory, telling us that the term "critical race theory" can be "used as interchangeably for race scholarship as Kleenex is used for tissue"—exactly as I've been saying all along. 👍 https://t.co/0xQrB80nC3

Appreciate the nod. Education from an educator is so important before making a decision. If we can’t help, I can direct you to a ton of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion trainers.

Neglect: verb : fail to care for properly. 1 : to give little attention or respect to : disregard. After 20 years on the job, that’s what that is. And you should be fired immediately for it.

While today’s terrible display of terror and meanness shakes us, let’s remember: @ossoff, Jewish son of an immigrant & @ReverendWarnock, first Black Senator from Georgia, will join a Catholic POTUS & the first woman, Black + Indian VP in our nation’s capital. God bless America.
