Is there a Mardi Gras celebration along the U.S./Mexico border? Well, kind of. Laredo throws a celebration of George Washington complete with a lavish ball, parades and costumes. Check out Matt McClain’s visual adventure.   https://t.co/byGD2BCXeB

The Trump administration’s threats along the increasingly militarized Texas border can’t overshadow a century-old celebration of American and Mexican ties.

Is being a Marine drill instructor hard? I always think of them as driven and unquestioned in their purpose. Here is a look at the very real pressures of living up to an ideal and what can go wrong without the right support.

The 5th-grader watched what looked like her house on TV, engulfed in flames. She thought about her fish, imagining it swimming to fish heaven. Then her school burned. Today she and other children came to a new school, yearning for normalcy. @danrosziff

For hundreds of students, the fires vanquished their schools, and some also lost their homes. Amid the trauma, they’ve moved into temporary classrooms.

It has been difficult to see the suffering after the Bourbon St. attack on New Year’s Day. Grateful ⁦@KFlynnNola⁩ and our team were able to show the victims were loved and share who they were.

Come behind the scenes with me at ‘Sesame Street,’ where the upcoming season explores emotional well-being of children – and where the well-being of the show itself is facing significant business and creative headwinds.

In Oxford, Mass., local officials closed public spaces to protect residents against the Eastern equine encephalitis virus. Parents and others responded with measured defiance -- a post-pandemic desire, one said, to stop “living scared.” @jslaternyc

@JenGriffinFNC This has been brewing for almost a month now. Amazed that it took this long for a direct attack on a USN combatant. Fortunately it fell short but the next one might be different. This conflict is expanding whether we like it or not. It's inevitable.
