When storing Helm charts in container registries, what do we prefer?. - Storing them in the same repo as the image, and using tags to distinguish, e.g. acme:1.2.3-helm. - Storing in a separate repo, e.g. acme/acme-helm:1.2.3.

I've softened on this over the years. Does a word correctly convey the meaning from the speaker to the listener? Then it's fine. Many words probably sounded ridiculous when first popularized. "software"? "web"? . We know what they mean 🤷.

But making the release/deploy pipeline opaque to anyone except engineers feels like a net loss? . I think a wider group of people/teams cares about them. I'd rather see release pipelines become more visible, more sharable, more standardized. .

For builds, the people who care are likely to be the engineers working on the application. Using a familiar language, with familiar tooling, debugging, etc, is a big plus.
