Today @nytimes, WCS’s Dan Zarin writes: “The world’s richest countries should lead by example by protecting their own peatlands, while also committing money to safeguard these landscapes in developing countries.”

This great picture ( https://t.co/74bdlqW1aj) clearly shows: there is no chance to decrease #atmosphericCO2 by C #sequestration neither in #cropland #soils nor in soils of other #ecosystems. The best what we can do: to maintain the existing #soil #Cstocks!

This is an amazing figure and will guide our thinking for a long time. Now motivated to get the word “afforestation” out of the next report and to keep studying the climate benefits of grasslands.

This is probably the most important figure in the new IPCC WG3 report. We need to accelerate the deployment of mature clean energy technologies and behavioral shifts this decade even as we work to develop the technologies we will need for the next few:

Hi #peattwitter! The @nytimes wants to hear your experiences with peatlands. They are working on a long-term project focused on peatlands and gathering peatland-enthusiasts like yourself to help shape their coverage. #peatECR Here's how to help: https://t.co/0Vzy86NeEB

Small acts of kindness can make a big difference. Students of Surat India 🇮🇳 spend their pocket money buying corn every few days & then place it on trees in their area so that birds and squirrels don’t go hungry. Kudos to these kids!

If data has grouped/clustered structure, we may wish to highlight this in a visualization. 🪶 The {geom_mark_ellipse} function from {ggforce} 📦 provides a perfect geometric layer to achieve this by drawing an annotated ellipse! 💪 https://t.co/CBfw7Uj52e #rstats #DataScience

Wonderful India 🇮🇳. The Great Banyan tree in the botanical garden near Kolkata occupies an area of 4.67 acres. The present crown of the tree has a circumference of 486 m. Its height is almost equivalent to the Gateway of India.
